Speedway

Retail / Broadcast / Design

Get what you need, and get on your way.

Speedway is the second largest convenience store chain in the United States, and growing quickly.

With so many store locations, this retail behemoth was in need of a brand refresh.

As part of the team that pitched and won the account, we developed a series of micro campaigns to highlight and promote their many products and amenities. We did this by updating their beloved jingle, shot product photography in a consistent manner, and crafted a different visual and tonal language for broadcast, among many things.

The Jingle

The original jingle was outdated, and reminiscent of a bad 90’s rock song.
We brought a fresh take by simplifying it, removing the lyric, and giving it a little charm.

Cup Design

Speedway doesn’t have a consistent brand across their product, so we invented a new design for their coffee cup.

Icon Animation

Using elements of the Speedway “S” mark or “speed lines,” we created different icons for the end animation at the end of each spot.

Broadcast

“Choices - Espresso” :30

Our first national spot for Speedway was centered around the various choices you can make with flavor for your coffee, so you can customize it however you want.
Your coffee. Your way.

“Bacon, Egg, and Cheese Croissant” :30

Get points for things you already buy.
Like a Bacon, Egg and Cheese Croissant Sandwich, which is also a lot of fun to say.

“Family” :30

A fun troupe on the classic sip and ahh.
Buy six drinks, choose your reward.

“Fizz or Freeze” :15

Same price for any size fountain or frozen beverage. So, go big, or bigger, or bigger-er.

“Get Three” :30

The many triple combinations you can have with Speedway cooler beverages.

“Last Bite” :30

Buy one, get one free pizza, so your first last bite isn’t your last, last bite.

Product Photography

Speedway did not have a consistent visual style for their product photography, so we created one for them.
Using an isometric angle and crisp lighting, it brings a sense of energy to the product.
